Difference Between Iron Oxide Black and Carbon Black

1. Iron oxide black pigment

Iron oxide black has excellent physical and chemical properties. Strong covering power, high coloring power, soft color, stable performance, and non-toxic is green environmental protection pigment; Alkali resistance, weak acid and dilute acid has a certain stability, with excellent light resistance, heat resistance, insoluble in water and organic solvents, with excellent rust resistance uv and other functions. Iron oxide black is mainly used in color cement parts, plastics, rubber, ceramics, paint, building materials and so on.

2. Carbon black

Carbon black is mainly divided into pigment carbon black, reinforcing carbon black, conductive carbon black and so on. Pigment carbon black carbon black used as coloring pigment in ink, paint, coating and other products. According to the color intensity (or blackness) and particle size is generally divided into high pigment carbon black, pigment carbon black, ordinary pigment carbon black and low pigment carbon black four. Mainly produced by contact and oil furnace processes, carbon black is one of the most difficult pigments to disperse.

3. Iron oxide black and carbon black difference

◆ Black iron oxide and carbon black are quite different substances.

◆ Iron oxide black is the iron oxide produced by the combustion of iron wire, and carbon black is the hydrocarbon under insufficient air conditions of incomplete combustion or thermal decomposition of carbon particles.

◆ You can choose your own black pigments according to their different functions and properties.
